Hall Royd Junction Box nameboard as preserved at the East Lancashire Raiway, Bury

Meltham Station Building (LYR) 4mm scale

The station buildings at Abbots Vale went through a number of iterations. In the beginning, it was a terminus station, and St. Albans Abbey was both a terminus and a junction, and was the fist station building, as I rather liked the canopy over the platform and track. Sadly, although 100% Plasticard, the sides distorted oddly, and therefore a replacement was required. Also in the intervening period, the layout had been relocated to West Yorkshire, and something more appropriate was required.

In the first issue of 'The LMS Journal' published by Wild Swan was just what I needed, namely a plan and photographs of the station building at Metham, on the branch up from Lockwood on the Huddersfield-Penistone line.

The model was built in 2004, and is Slater's embossed Plasticard affixed to mounting board. I made the error of using Bostick All Purpose glue, and sadly there appears to have been a reaction with the plastic, and some bulging of the walls is apparent.

The model was residing, unloved, in a box under the layout, and in March 2021 I listed on eBay, thinking it was time somebody else got benefit from owning it.
